Exposed!  Imposter Banished From Fifty State Animals

March 12, 2011

Lincoln, NE-  Entomologists have confirmed reports that an internal investigation exposed an imposter lurking within Andrew Woodward's painting series, Fifty State Animals. "A conniving imposter fly (Flyus Cheaticus) had stolen the NE Honeybee spot from right under our eyes," stated the chairman of the investigation, "We can confirm The Imposter has been banished from the series forever."  Though looking very similar to the amazing european honeybee, the imposter's true genus was straight housefly.  Heroically, a new, true Nebraska Honeybee has claimed the position and returned his state animal symbol to righteousness. Rumors of an upcoming bout between the two insects are unconfirmed. The Imposter was auctioned off at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival the summer of 2011.
